Founded in January 1943, Campion, a boys' school in South Mumbai, has rededicated itself not to prepare just a ‘socio – economic elite' but rather to educate leaders in service. The transformation that we in the school desire, rests on four pillars namely,
Social : to form men of substance.
Intellectual : to develop the imaginative, the affective and the creative.
Spiritual : to help nurture values and positive attitudes.
Personal : to assist in the growth of a healthy self-image.
For the realization of intellectual and spiritual goals, we have evolved a comprehensive curriculum, coupled with an entire array of co-curricular activities. Our curriculum focuses on project learning, based on educational tours, within and outside the city.
Our teaching is moving towards interactive methodology with the required audio-visual aids made readily available. We have an evaluation process, which is cumulative and not just a one-off examination system. Class work is given importance as also peer learning and co-operative learning, a highlight of the Ignatian Pedagogy.
In the co-curricular field, we organise activities from debates, impromptu, quiz contests and elocutions, to Indian and Western music both vocal and instrumental, dramatics, choral recitation and singing, in the literary arena. The sports itinerary is exhaustive. Our boys have, organised cricket, football and basketball coaching for inter-school tournaments. Other games include table tennis, badminton, lawn tennis, swimming, carrom, chess and scrabble.
We at Campion hope to work to the best of our individual capacities and realize the goals of education as envisaged.
We believe in our motto Gaudium In Veritate-Joy in Truth. Our endeavour to realize our educational objectives and work for a joyful future is unending. The process for creating Men for Others goes on. |
